The MasterSingers Concert – November 1, 2009

Want to hear some fantastic jazz?  Want to hear some music made famous by the 5th Dimension?  Then the place to be is at First Presbyterian Church, November 1 at 4:00 p.m. where jazz and Latin-jazz will be performed as well as the MasterSingers under the direction of Ric Swanson.  Compositions by Chick Corea, Jon Hendricks, John Coltrane and Stevie Wonder will be performed as well as many other famous artists.  A jazz ensemble will accompany the singers.

The MasterSingers was previously known as “The Voices of Mel Olson” and later “De Meistersingers.”   The cost is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.  Tickets are available at the door, or you may call 551-9747 to reserve your tickets. The church does not take any credit cards.   Come one, come all for a fantastic afternoon of music!!  It promises to be a fun time as well as a toe-tapping time.  See you November 1!

Returning October 10 – The Nebraska Brass

Returning Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. is the Nebraska Brass!  The 22nd season of the Nebraska Brass begins with “Brass Blast!”  Exciting, boisterous selections of “William Tell” by Rossini, “The Little Shepherd” by Debussy, “Ragtime Dance” by Joplin, “Bluesette” by Theilmans, and “Welcome” from Shaker Tunes by Walker perforned on trumpets, tuba, trombone, and French horn is what you will enjoy Saturday evening.  Refreshments will follow the concert.

The cost is $15/adults and $12/seniors.  Students are free.  Tickets will be sold after worship on Sunday, October 4 and will also be available at the east and south doors the night of the concert.  Come to the concert and have an enjoyable evening!
