Prayer Walk followed by Dinner
May 2nd at 6 p.m., First Presbyterian Church
Join us for National Day of Prayer on May 2nd, 2024 at 6 p.m. We will be walking around our First Presbyterian Church neighborhood praying for various organizations and people. We will also be praying for World Peace. We will follow our walk with a nacho bar dinner. The theme of the 2024 National Day of Prayer is faithfulness. Faithfulness centers around the scripture verse from Isaiah 25:1 ” Lord, you are my God: I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.” The Mission Committee also invites you to signup to pray on May 2nd. Each participant will choose 1 hour to pray for our nation. Sign-up sheets are in Calvin Hall.
Vacation Bible School
June 10th – 14th, 9 a.m. to Noon
Mark your calendars! Join the fun this summer for Vacation Bible School (VBS) as we dive into friendship with God! This summer at VBS we will take kids deep into an amazing undersea adventure where they’ll experience the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God. Kids will meet Tad, Finnley, Fisher, Waylon and Octavia as they help us explore the deep undersea of Bible Adventure, perform science experiments at Imagination Station and play games during Reef Rec. Most importantly we will find that our underwater friends will show us that God is our friend forever who’s real and loves us, who we can trust and is for everyone.
Helpers of all kinds are needed to host this grand adventure. Also in order to make this VBS “come to life,” we need extra hands to help with decorating our spaces. Please mark your calendars for the week of May 20th in the evenings and then from May 28th through June 4th during the day and or evenings. Please talk with Susan Kawamoto at sakawamoto11@gmail.com, if you would like to help. Registration forms will be available outside the Next Generation Ministries office in Calvin Hall. Please let us know if you need a registration form emailed to you. All children from preschool through 6th grade are welcome to attend. Invite your friends and be sure to invite your grandchildren! Also if you have a youth finishing 7th-12th grade, we are looking for helpers with crafts and games, to perform skits and to assist groups throughout the morning.
