World Mission

 MIRAJ MEDICAL CENTER

The Miraj Medical Center in Sangli, India receives annual support from our benevolence budget at First Presbyterian Church.  The medical center is the only comprehensive health entity in a 150 mile radius.  It serves as an important resource in providing medical care, training for nurses and midwives, health clinics, immunization programs and nutrition programs.  It is supported in part by the Presbyterian Church (USA).

CROP WALK

The annual CROP Walk across the country sponsored by Church World Service is held each October.  The citywide event leaves from First Christrian Church at 66th and Dodge Streets at 1:30 p.m.  Our Junior High Youth and Senior High Youth along with several adults paticipate.   Twenty-five percent of the money raised locally will go to the Omaha Food Bank, and a portion of that will be distributed to our church’s food pantry program.

PEACE OFFERING

A special offering taken during World Communion Sunday designated for world peace keeping efforts.
