Adult Education – Diving into 2019

A Season for Growing… 

It is usually in the middle of winter, when things look the bleakest, that we can dig a little deeper and find a glimmer of new life that is just breaking through the surface. I believe it is the same with our spiritual life. As we go through the various seasons of life, we are able to find glimmers of new life as we go deeper in our community, in our worship, in our service to others, and in our times of growth. 

Back in September, on Rally Sunday, I challenged each of us to Go Deeper: deeper in faith and further into community. I thought now would be a good time for a checkup…how are you fulfilling that challenge? How have you gone deeper in your faith? Have you participated in a bible study, read scripture on a regular basis, spent time praying for others, or joined a small group? How have you sought to go further into community? Have you invited someone new to join you for lunch after worship, reconnected with an old friend, volunteered at the Pantry, or joined in the fun at Mariners? 

I hope that you have tested the water, perhaps jumped into something new and taken a few laps…if not there is still time! 2019 has new opportunities for going deeper in all areas of our life together – worship, community, service and growth – and it is my hope that you will consider becoming involved as we journey farther together. My prayer is we all continue to seek opportunities to grow in our faith, serve faithfully, worship joyfully, support one another in community! If you are wondering where to start…start with me! I am always looking for people who are interested in being a part of a Bible study and will do my best to provide for those requests…so let’s talk!
